Yongin-si, Gongse-dong Civil Farm Garden Recruitment of 800 teams

The Special City of Yongin, Gyeonggi Province announced on the 25th that it is recruiting 800 citizen farmers to grow gardens at the Citizen Farm in Gongse-dong, Giheung-gu this year (around 216 Gongse-dong).

As the size of the garden was increased last year, the number of pre-sales more than doubled compared to the previous year, and it is divided into individuals (770 accounts) and groups (30 accounts).

Individuals have to pay an annual fee of 10,000 won for each account, which is about 5 pyeong (14㎡). The group is about 14 pyeong (42㎡) and the usage fee is 30,000 won.

The city plans to give priority to the disabled, multicultural families, and families with three or more children.

The target of application is the head of a household or an organization residing in Yongin City as of the announcement date.

To apply, visit the Yongin Integrated Reservation System or Citizen Farm in Gongse-dong from the 13th to the 17th of next month to apply.

After randomly drawing applicants, the city will check the submitted documents and whether or not to pay the usage fee, and will disclose the selection on the website of the Yongin City Agricultural Technology Center in March.

The selectees can use the vegetable garden from April to the end of November after completing the pre-training and submitting the implementation agreement.

An official from Yongin City said, “As citizens’ interest in vegetable gardens in the city increased, last year, the 2,537 pyeong (8,389㎡) citizen’s farm in Gongse-dong was significantly expanded to 12,100 pyeong (40,000㎡) and the sales account more than doubled.” “I hope that many citizens who are interested in operating a vegetable garden will apply,” he said.
