Zelensky “Effect of power outages over 6 million households”… EU emergency assistance
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said more than 6 million homes were affected by power outages following Russia’s indiscriminate shelling of its energy infrastructure for the second day in a row.
He said that power outages continue in most of Ukraine, including Kiiu.
Due to the Russian missile strike, all nuclear power plants in Ukraine, as well as Europe’s largest nuclear power plant in Zaporizhia, were cut off from the external power grid at one time and then restored within a day.
In response to Russia’s series of attacks, the European Union has decided to provide additional assistance, such as transformers, to help Ukraine operate its heating and power grids in winter.
