In a speech at the Suwon Special City Council held on the 21st, Lee Jae-joon, Mayor of Suwon Special Administrative Cases, presented ‘civil sympathy’ as the keynote for municipal administration in 2023, and said, “We will achieve a ‘sympathetic administration’ that can rejoice together and grieve together.”

The total budget for Suwon City in 2023 is KRW 3.72 trillion, an increase of KRW 194.6 billion from this year, including a 20% increase in the budget for civil safety compared to the previous year.

Mayor Lee Jae-joon promised in his municipal administration speech, “The new Suwon will start with sympathy through communication,” and “I will truly listen to the low and small voices.” He went on to say, “The beginning of policy begins with ‘forming a consensus’ through communication with citizens, and the process of policy must be resolved with the spirit of persuasion, understanding, and empathy, and the outcome of the policy must also end with ‘empathy’ shared with citizens.” said.

The total budget of Suwon City for 2023 is KRW 3.72 trillion, an increase of KRW 194.6 billion from this year. General accounts increased by 175.9 billion won to 2,747.7 billion won, and special accounts increased by 18.7 billion won to 324.3 billion won.

The budget for safety was 53 billion won, an increase of 8.3 billion won from this year. In particular, over the next four years, 117 million won was urgently allocated to train 60,000 people, or 5% of the total citizens, as ‘Suwon Citizen Safety Guards’.

Mayor Lee Jae-joon said, “According to the principle of ‘quantity-submission-submission’ (quantity-submission-submission), next year’s expenditure budget was prepared the same as the general account revenue volume. I will do everything in my power to complete it without a hitch,” he said.
